It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the official website of the Disaster Mitigation Professional Association (DMPA).

DMPA is a membership organization based in East Africa established in 2017.

DMPA is governed by a management team comprising of the chairperson and the executive committee. The council of DMPA has been making substantial progress towards growing DMPA into truly East African Institution by working closely with relevant government agencies in the promotion of hazard management techniques and policy formulation.

(a) To promote the professional development and growth of its members
(b) To provide services that protect its members and enhance their professional status
(c) To nurture and maintain quality professional standards of practice in the fields of Disaster/Environmental Management, Conflict Resolution and Diplomacy
(d) To promote high ethical values in Disaster/Environmental/Conflict Management Practice, training and service delivery
(e) To be non-political/non profit making organization that adheres to professional competency

DMPA is made up of professionals in various NGOs, Government and academic discipline. Members of DMPA enjoy a wide platform for networking with its members.

DMPA offers a platform for linkages with professionals within Kenya, the region and on an international front as well. DMPA is a member of the disaster management policy making caucus in Kenya. This offers DMPA members specialist knowledge-based services and events on subjects such as Continuous Professional Development and disaster Education programmes, governance, ethics and standards.
